Como hosts 'State of the market' breakfast briefing

Como has held its third annual ‘State of the market' breakfast briefing with guest speaker Digby Flower of CB Richard Ellis, who shared his thoughts on the future of the fit out market with over 80 industry leaders.

Key points from Digby's presentation included the prediction that there will be a shortage of large scale buildings between 2010 and 2014 as the development pipeline ‘dries up' as a result of banks no longer providing finance during the recession. He also highlighted the possibility of the resurgence of the pre-let market, albeit costs will be higher than the rental values available in the current market. Building refurbishment will also become increasingly popular with clients as the shortage of supply continues.

The event was rounded off with a question and answer session which covered issues on Crossrail, the effect on the Olympics and reinstatement costs for tenants.

Como director Robin Harris, commented: "Digby is one of the city's top agents and his presentation was excellent. This event is always well attended and we have had extremely positive feedback."
